In honor of Wonder Woman‘s 75th anniversary, Variety will reveal an exclusive Wonder Woman drawing from DC Comics publisher Jim Lee in a special feature to be included in the Oct. 11 Power of Women issue.
The Wonder Woman feature, written by Variety’s senior film and media editor Brent Lang, will examine the impact Wonder Woman has had on women and feminism and how the iconic figure has fit into the cultural narrative over the years. Actress Gal Gadot, star of Warner Bros.’ upcoming “Wonder Woman,” and Lynda Carter, television’s original Wonder Woman, are among interviews in the feature.
An exclusive teaser trailer of the sketch can be viewed below:
Other interviews will include Diane Nelson, President of DC Entertainment, Lee, and a DC archivist who will showcase the top 10 Wonder Woman comic book covers of all time. An evolution of Wonder Woman through the decades will also accompany the feature, as well as a look ahead at the new Wonder Woman film slated to hit theaters June 2.
Exclusive Wonder Woman video content will also launch on Variety.com on Oct. 11, including a time-lapse video capturing the process of Lee drawing the new image from concept to completion. The new image will be revealed in the Oct. 11 issue of Variety as a collectible print that will be available in 2,500 print issues available for purchase on newsstands only.
